![]() Last week I had a great day with my dad. Had a fabulous lunch, great conversation and a trip the attorneys office. As the executor of his estate, I am fortunate that my dad has taken great strides in preparing for his "departure".. As part of that process he has ensured that the paperwork and property information is clear and up to date. Well, almost. As we were reviewing the documentation, we noticed that there was a wrong address on his will! Seems impossible that such an important document would have such a glaring error on such basic information. But it happens ALL the time. It was fortunate that we caught the error because it would have been much harder to go back and correct. And a lot more expensive. No matter what situation you are in, you are always your best information advocate. That means being on the lookout all the time. I used to not understand when Grandma checked her receipt; why she took time to actually read over every bill that came in the mail; why people actually read the fine print of a contract. It's actually really important! To being your best information advocate!
