Two years ago I went to use a sunblock from what I thought was only a year old. Boy was I sorry. I ended up with a skin irritation that was incredibly painful and nasty looking.
Prescription medications are not the only things that expire. So do lotions, over the counter medications and sunblock. These items can cause you to have a serious reaction or even make you seriously ill.

We all want to put our best self forward every day. For many of us, that means the daily routine of literally putting on our faces. If you are like me, you whip out the same items every day and then toss them back in your bag. And every once in awhile you change our a mascara or eyeliner.
But have you considered your cosmetic tools? When's the last time you cleaned them? Think about it. Do you use the same towel for months on end? Probably not.
Your one thing Wednesday challenge is to clean your cosmetic tools. Use a gentle (organic if possible) soap and allow to dry. Don't forget the pencil sharpener! As long as you are at it, toss out anything that is over 6 months old no matter what you paid for it. Better is to toss anything over 3. Especially mascara.
Putting your best self forward begins with feeling good about yourself. It's taking care of yourself and the things that make you happy and joyful. A simple step is to honor the things you have and taking care of the things that take care of you.
