I hate having to be reminded to do something. It makes me irritated. But some reminders are necessary to achieve a goal.
One of my challenges with my health is to drink more water. I'm not great at it. So I use my calendar to remind me to drink water throughout the day - after coffee of course. It helps me at least get closer to my goal of 8 glasses of water a day.
Areas in your home that make you feel uneasy, frustrated or ill at ease are also gentle (but negative) reminders. These are areas that you have a goal and vision for, but just can't quite begin.
Today's Top Tip is to put your own positive gentle reminders in your calendar. Make the appointment with yourself and in the notes section, add one thing that you are going to do that day.
For spaces, maybe it's putting a paper bag for trash in that location. Or maybe you take a laundry basket of all the things that don't belong there and return them to their homes. (One of my favorite tricks and it works like magic.)
Clutter is un-made decisions and is often combined with feelings of guilt or lack of control. By YOU taking the initiative to create time to manage that area, you are empowering yourself one small action at a time.
To your most peaceful self!
